Our son was three years old when he was diagnosed with delayed/disordered phonology. We approached Elizabeth for an initial assessment of his needs. We were immediately impressed by her thoroughness and attention to detail. She evaluated our son’s speech deficiencies and proposed a comprehensive plan to address his particular requirements.
Elizabeth’s extensive knowledge and experience is evident in her methodology. She creates a fun and relaxed environment and can hold our son’s attention for an hour. No mean feat when dealing with a three year old!
He looks forward to seeing her and we are amazed by her continued ingenuity, energy and tireless efforts to make the sessions exciting and entertaining for him. Her use of games and props ensure that there is never a dull moment, whilst using these to reinforce her learning programme. Her skills allow her to adapt her approach as our son’s speech develops. We have seen a significant improvement in his all-round language and communication skills. Elizabeth is responsible for unlocking his speech potential. Not only has there been substantial development in the areas that she has concentrated on, but her creation of an overall speech awareness in him has led to him making further advances. Without her we have no doubt that his speech would not have evolved to where it is now and this is something that we are extremely grateful to her for.
We were involved in each session and Elizabeth taught us how to supplement her work at home and this again has paid dividends.
We would unreservedly recommend Elizabeth’s services to anyone who is concerned about their child’s speech development and have no doubt that she will be able to help.
After T. returns from a visit to see Elizabeth, it’s like something has been unlocked and he says things that he didn’t and couldn’t say before.
"We are so grateful to Elizabeth for the way in which she built up our son's confidence in order to encourage him to "have a go". He made amazing progress and we are so glad he had the opportunity to work with Elizabeth in his pre-school years."
